Babies Are On The Way...

And I have pictures of two baby showers to prove it!

During the weekend of May 21st and 22nd, 2005, we went to a baby shower for Jennifer, and for Sara. Both were a lot of fun, there was tons of food, and tons of gifts for two girls we will be welcoming into the world very shortly!

As you can see in the pictures, both Jenn and Sara are VERY pregnant, and are due during the first week of June. That means Jonah will have a cousin!

Okay, so this posting isn't really about Jonah, but now that Megan has taught me how to resize pictures, I had to sneak that one in there, because it is so cute! Anyway, as it happens, Jennifer is due on June 6th, and Sara is due on June 13th. Not an unlucky day at all! For Jenn's shower, Megan cooked a lot of food, and they tell me it was yummy!

I say they told me it was yummy, because I didn't eat a lot of it. There were drunken weenies which I ate a lot of, and some cute little mini meat pastry quiche thingies, which were quite delicious. Anyway, the food was good, and the party that went along with it was fantastic!

This is Ginger. She and her husband Dan held the baby shower for Jenn at their house. (Here I must offer two apologies. First, for the picture being smaller than the rest. I had to crop the pic so you would able to actually see Ginger, and increasing its size, only made the picture, well, lets just say unflattering to Ginger. Second, I realized that I don't have any pictures of Dan, sadly, and I am mad at myself for not taking one of him.) So, in his place, is a picture of his son Mike, and Mike's dog Elwood.

Keir and Mike have known each other for a long time, and both were each other's best man (best men?) at their weddings. So it seemed fitting that Dan and Ginger would have the party at their house. (It doesn't hurt that Dan and Ginger are party people, and have opened their home to Keir and Jenn before. Their house was also the site of Keir and Jenn's wedding shower. It's a party house!

Let them eat cake! And eat cake, and eat cake, and eat cake! That was probably the biggest cake I have ever seen! I did eat the cake, of course, and it was excellent!

Now what would a baby shower be without gifts? Pretty boring, I would say. (Except for my wife's wonderful cooking!) So naturally, gifts for Baby Caroline were opened and enjoyed.

So that is pretty much the story of Keir and Jenn's baby shower. And while Keir, Jenn and Baby Caroline will get to enjoy the gifts they got that weekend, the rest of us will get to ejoy the gift that is Caroline!

Now, here is Sara's story...

What's that you say? There are no men there? Well, that's because we were all relegated to the basement, to talk about sports, cars, sportscars, the weather, and all other sorts of manly things men talk about when relegated to basements. The shower was held at Sara's sister in law's house, owned by Seth and Janice. Sara's Mom and Grandmother were there...

Sara's sisters came from Virginia to be there for her...

Jason's Mom and Dad were there...

(Once again, I have to apologize, as I neglected to take pictures of Seth or Marc. They were there, though, I promise! If you look on the Seder part of the 'blog, you will see them there. Sorry.)

And some other folks dropped by for Sara, including Janice's parents and us!

And as with Jenn's shower, Sara and her baby got plenty of gifts too...

So even though the men were relegated, we had a great time, and and Megan got to relax after a busy weekend. And for the first time, Jonah got to meet Sara's Mom! (You can see how happy they both are at their first meeting!)

So, that's all for the parties. But the real fun begins when Sara and Jason's baby joins us, as well as when Caroline enters the world! When they both do, be sure to check back for lots of baby pics!

You Asked For Them, And Here They Are!

That's right, more really cute pictures of the newest member of the Hans/Davis family! Of course, I won't be able to say that soon, because Megan's siter in law, Jennifer, is due in June!
