A National Day Of Mourning...
Tuesday is supposed to be a National Day Of Mourning, in honor of former President Gerald Ford.
Sigh.
I guess I am sad.
I am sad that I cannot get mail on this day.
I am sad that we will continue to hear about this man until, at least, Wednesday.
Wait, wait...Don't get me wrong. From everything I remember, and from everything I read, he was a President who didn't seek the office, and he also helped our country emerge from the scandal ridden regime before him. But really...no mail?
Seriously, 3,000 American soldiers have been killed in Iraq and Afghanistan since we began this operation.
But does the mail get cancelled when one of our soldiers makes the supreme sacrifice?
Sigh.
I am in mourning.
